Cyber Skill #3

Selecting the website you want to appear when you launch your web browser.

Introduction
You can set your web browser to go to the same website (any one of your favorites) each time you open the browser, or you can set your web browser to open as 'blank' and go nowhere -- thus letting you type in where you want it to go, without first having to 'stop' it from going somewhere.  I prefer the latter, because I want control over my browser when it launches.

Step 1
Open/launch your browser.

(You don't have to be online to make this tweak.)

Step 2
Select Tools

Step 3
Select Internet Options

Step 4
Under the General Tab, see the select home page option

Step 5
Type in desired web destination
in the "Address:" line type the complete web address (http://www.etc.) where you want your browser to 'go to' when it's opened.  The, click on "Use Current."
If you don't want your browser to go anywhere when it's launched, and instead, just open a blank page, click on "Use Blank" instead and you'll see the words "about:blank" appear in the window above.

Step 6
Click "OK"

Step 7
To test your new settings, close browser and then launch browser

You're done!
